Jim Williams defeated by Glen Durrant in a very close quarter final match 5-4

Defending champion Glen Durrant rallied superbly from the brink of defeat to edge out Jim Williams over nine sets. As Scott Waites did earlier, Durrant came from 4-1 down to win.

But while Waites owed his miracle to Andy Baetens imploding, there was no such collapse from Williams. Durrant simply found another gear and outplayed him. From 4-1 down, Durrant won 12 of the next 13 legs.  He raced to the sixth set in just 38 darts, won the seventh without reply and levelled the match at 4-4 with a 116 check out. Williams had 180s in each of the opening two legs of the deciding set, but Durrant found a response and won the set 3-0 for the match.
